MPs receive briefing on collaborative local government efforts

At the Waikato Mayoral Forum’s meeting on 13 June, MPs present received a briefing on the collaborative local government efforts underway in the Waikato and other initiatives such as the Waikato medical school proposal, which is supported by the forum.

The MPs included Local Government Minister Anne Tolley (pictured centre) and Statistics Minister Scott Simpson, the MP for Coromandel (left). The pair were welcomed by forum chair (and Waikato Regional Council chair) Alan Livingston (right).

Other MPs present were Hauraki-Waikato's Nanaia Mahuta and Waikato Labour list MP Sue Moroney. The MPs heard of the extensive efforts being put into improving the Waikato's performance by joined up working.
